On Thursday 2 May 2024, elections for combined authority mayors will be held in the following 9 regions across England:
- East Midlands
- Greater Manchester
- Liverpool City Region
- North East
- South Yorkshire
- Tees Valley
- West Midlands
- West Yorkshire
- York and North Yorkshire.
An election will also be taking place for the Mayor of London.
These 10 mayors are directly elected leaders and can have significant powers within an area. They can use their influence to tackle the climate and nature emergency.
We're urging mayoral candidates to step up and commit to ambitious, urgent and meaningful action on climate and nature. Will you help us secure these commitments from your local candidates?
Write to candidates in your area and ask them to sign our mayoral pledge for climate action.
Please note: candidates who've been asked to sign our pledge in the East Midlands, the North East, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire have all done so, so there's no longer a template email for these areas.
